Research Reports

The Research Report section presents summaries, analyses, and reviews of ITS-related studies and conceptual work. In addition to internal review by ITS Center members, each report has been reviewed by a scientist and an educational researcher and revised in light of the reviewers' comments and suggestions.

Evaluation Reports

The ITS Center works within a continuous evaluation plan, with ongoing data collection and analysis. Evaluation Reports on different aspects of the Center program are produced by members of the evaluation committee at various times for various purposes.

Published Articles

The Published Articles section includes articles published in refereed journals that are based on ITS Center research and activities. Many of these articles are authored by collaborative teams of ITS-Center related faculty and graduate students in science, mathematics, and education.

Working Papers

In the Working Papers section, ITS-Center related faculty and graduate students in science, mathematics, and education can release interim results of their ongoing research to provide current information to those interested in the impact of the use of information technology in teaching and learning science. ITS Working Papers go through one round of internal review. Working Papers are works-in-progress for submission to journals requiring external review, so feedback is welcomed as they are refined for submission. Once published, the citation is moved to the Published Articles section and the local pdf link is replaced with the appropriate citation.

Graduate Student Research

In this section are posted abstracts of doctoral dissertations, records of study, and masters theses produced by the graduate students that have been funded by the ITS Center. For more detail on these studies, please contact the Center.

Practitioner Research

In the Practitioner Research section, ITS-Center participants who are science and mathematics teachers in Grades 7 - 16 share the results of their research projects in which they have investigated the impact of the implementation of information technology to teach science and mathematics in their classrooms. ITS Practitioner Research papers go through several rounds of internal review. Practitioner Research connects the goals of the Center directly to the classroom.

Research to Practice Notes

Research to Practice Notes are produced by the ITS Center to provide up-to-date information for science and education faculty, school administrators, teachers, and parents connecting the Center’s research to the actual use of information technology to transfer current science research into Grades 7 – 16 classrooms.

Related Publications

In the Related Publications section, ITS-related science and education faculty post links to scholarly products that have resulted as extensions of their participation with the ITS Center. These products include articles in refereed journals, curriculum documents, instructional materials, and opinion papers.
