ITS Center Partnerships
The ITS Center is a partnership between the College of Science and the College of Education at Texas A&M University. The center was established by the National Science Foundation in October 2000 through a grant that was developed and administered by the Texas Engineering Experiment Station.
The ITS Center is one of several Centers for Learning and Teaching established nationwide since 2000 through NSF's Division of Elementary, Secondary and Informal Education (ESIE). The centers are part of NSF's $100 million effort to regenerate leadership in research and teaching in mathematics, science and technology. With the help of these centers, NSF hopes to encourage the development of new faculty and new materials to boost learning at the Pre-K-12 levels and prepare graduate students in areas of critical national need to eventually assume leadership roles.
Other key partners who have been involved in the ITS Center include the Charles A. Dana Center, University of Texas; Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi; the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History; the Rural Systemic Initiatives in Texas; and the various NSF urban systemic initiatives and programs in Texas.
